| Jack Bingham sprints toward goal |
As Carl Stabler's first team went top of the table with their 1-0 win, so taking maximum points from their first five games, focus at Nyetimber Lane switched to Luke Cooper's reserves. With quite a few regulars missing, the side was youthful in the extreme, many gave this game as men against boys...which wasn't as it turned out. As early as the tenth minute Pagham could have gone ahead, the Rye 'keeper twice caught flapping as the ball came towards him. Ted Griffin then shot well over, with only the same keeper to beat. Ryan Cox was well set when clearing a Rye threat, whilst Wes Hallett saved well just after the half hour.

| Wes Hallett - Penalty Save Hero ! |
The second half started with Rye on the offensive, twice having chances to score, and having a penalty decision turned down. On came the two Sams, Misslebrook and Dowsett as Luke Cooper looked to make changes. Farcical scenes when referee Mr Farmer made a crop of bookings, four players seeing yellow within the space of five minutes. Adi Rosario came on for Pagham, the Portuguese youngster doing his best to live up to the "Drogba's Double" comments from some in the crowd. The save of the game came with five minutes to go when Wes Hallett pulled off a tremendous stop to curtail Rye's chances of going ahead. Not long after, the succession of penalty controversies continued at Nyetimber Lane. Rye were awarded a spot-kick, sparking much hand-bags at dawn stuff in the Pagham area. Once referee Mr Farmer restored order, Rye's attempt was well saved to end a game which Pagham could have won.
